Holi – a traditional Indian feast, symbolizing the arrival of spring. It is celebrated traditionally, by throwing colored powder paints. In the northern state of Uttar Pradesh before the actual festival of Holi, they celebrate Holi Lathmar, and since this is also the Spring Festival. According to legend, Krishna came to Barsana town to cause jealousy in his beloved Radha. In response, women are driven out of his village. Today, women in this day Barsany “banish” men with sticks because they singing provocative songs and throw them in the powder coatings. 

The colorful festival of holi , that literally means ‘burning’ is celebrated on the full moon day in the Bengal month of phalguna. The festival celebrates the commencement of a fresh season of spring bidding farewell to the cold winters. It also encompasses a religious rationale , commemorating several proceedings that pertain to the hindu mythology.

Throwing powder, dancing, participating in bonfire are all thrilling celebrations that are included in this festival.
